NEW!

Become a vendor at the Lei Day Festival at Kalákaua Park!

Vendors who sign up this year will have first pick of the booths next year.

This is the first time we are offering booths to vendors, so this is your opportunity to tell us what works best for YOU!
e-mail: YuenL008@hawaii.rr.com

Vendors must have a tie-in to the theme of the lei. Locally made items are preferred.

Examples of qualifying vendors:

·         lei makers and lei craft suppliers

·         garden shops

·         florists

·         artists with depictions of lei in any media

·         environmental education organizations

·         hálau hula

·         lauhala weavers (baskets can carry lei, and you wear lei on pāpale [hats])

·         food booths selling products from locally-grown plants

·         Not sure if you qualify? Send an e-mail and describe what you do! YuenL008@hawaii.rr.com

What we offer:

* Space in the “kauhale” which fits the theme of your booth – The park will be divided in to various areas with vendors assigned to the area we feel best fits their themes. For example, garden supplies, environmental education, and plant sales would be assigned to one kauhale. Lei makers, floral hairclip makers, and jewelry makers would be assigned to another kauhale. Pa`u, sarongs, and lei-decorated zori would be in another kauhale.

* Filing the booth paperwork for you – We recognize that running down to the County office to pay your booth fee is a pain. So we have included the county fee in your booth fee and are so happy you will be joining us that we will take care of that paperwork for you. Do remember that you are responsible for your GET, and any applicable vending licenses. The County has started checking up on vendors!

* Promotional page in this website until April 30, 2011  This includes your biography/business information, and up to three photos of you and/or your lei-related product which you will include with your booth palapala [paperwork]. If you already have a website, the page will provide links to your existing site. Cross-linking is an excellent way to increase your search engine visibility! If you do not already have a website, this is a great way to have a web presence at a very low cost!

* All that for only $40!

What You Bring

* A table – Or whatever makes you comfortable to work at/display your product.

* A pop-up tent – While we won’t force you to bring one, it is Hilo! So you probably will want a way to stay dry or (if we’re lucky!) our of the sun.

* Your wonderful products or services – We are SO excited to see what the talented people of our island, ka Moku o Keawe, will bring!

* People to run your booth – See you on Lei Day!

Set Up – Please have your booth ready by 10:00 am

Break Down – The festival ends at 3:30. Please be broken down and cleaned up by 4:30.

E-mail YuenL008@hawaii.rr.com for application form.
